Met Office issues “risk to life” warnings with wind speeds over 80mph expected overnight.

It has been revealed that Storm Eleanor, the latest storm to rock the British Isles, started when someone left a gate open at a wind farm on the Gower Peninsula and all the winds got out.

Penny Fann a wind farmer told The Rochdale Herald:

“It’s not easy farming wind you see. We don’t get enough credit to be fair. The last time someone didn’t get the door to the outside privvy shut quick enough and we nearly lost half of Pembrokeshire.”

Robert Nelmes of Swansea People’s Early Warning (SPEW) recommends that the UK stays indoors tonight but, if you have to go out, please wrap up.
