Dad’s Army Star Clive Dunn has apologised after being pictured wearing a Nazi uniform.
The Sun on Sunday published pictures of the celebrity actor and one time pop-star in a World War Two outfit, including a swastika armband.
The 104-year-old said the pictures dated from 1973, when he went to an office New Year’s Eve party straight from work and he had not had the chance to go home and change.
In a statement he said: “I am absolutely devastated if this caused offence to anyone.
Particularly if I have offended any old ladies, particularly my Nan. Grandma; We love you!”
One picture shows Dunn smiling in a photo in a pub alongside a friend, who is also wearing a Nazi military uniform.
In another image, they are joined by friends wearing French-style berets. As well as the red armband, Dunn’s outfit included an Iron Cross medal and a badge featuring a Nazi eagle.
In other news Nigel Farage went to Europe to give a speech to actual real life Nazis in Germany, not that the Sun or any of the other British tabloids who preferred to focus on people playing dress up fourteen years ago. They really don’t like it up em.
A spokesman for Mr Dunn said “Don’t Panic Mr Hypocrite – It’s just a fucking costume! You really ought to have something better to do with your life than set yourself up as the outrage police getting triggered by fucking nothing. Perhaps you should go back to hacking phones, you Sun reporter twat!”
