Candice Clay, winner of the 2016 Great British Bake off, has sensationally announced She is converting to Islam.
“Candice is a slave name” she said “I didn’t choose it and I don’t want it. I am Macadamia Ali, a free name – it means complex pastry beloved of God, and I insist people use it when people speak to me.”
Macadamia Ali, as she is now to be known, won the undisputed championship of the BBC by overcoming eleven infidels on her way to a three book deal and elocution lessons.
An unintended benefit of her conversion is that she will no longer be allowed to wear make-up so there won’t be any more dark red pouts across the kitchen.
Paul Hollywood was unavailable for comment but sources close to him said he wanted to know if this meant that she could have multiple husbands
Macadamia Ali told us; “it seems to have worked for Nadiya Hussain. She’s done a couple of books, got a column and her own show on the telly. Maybe I can be so lucky. Inshallah.”
