Jeremy Corbyn will today lay out his manifesto pledge to make dropping out of university courses affordable for everyone.
He will tell supporters that, under the current Tory Government doing four terms of a Media Studies degree at Huddersfield Polytechnic could leave young people feeling like they have made a completely pointless and expensive mistake.
However Labour will guarantee those students make completely pointless and free mistakes. Oh, and get a job on the Railways in Safety or Signalling or something.
Corbyn will go further, pointing out that he himself dropped out of a degree in Trade Union Studies at North London Polytechnic and it didn’t stop him from being leader of the least popular Labour Party ever.
At this stage the proposals haven’t been costed or indeed thought through but Diane Abbot said they probably wouldn’t cost that much.
