Bernie Ecclestone is said to have received the news of his mother-in-law’s kidnap with mixed emotions this morning

In an exclusive interview with the Rochdale Herald this afternoon he told us;

“It’s not everyday that you wake up to the news that somebody has kidnapped your mother-in-law. However on a brighter note, somebody has kidnapped my mother-in-law.”

Mr Ecclestone received a ransom demand of £28m this morning for the safe return of his mother-in-law and is currently “weighing his options” as it’s “quite a lot of money” and apparently “she’s a bit of a pain in the arse at Christmas.”

The Hispanic kidnappers from the staunchly Catholic country who revere their mother-in-laws have obviously never been to Britain nor heard of Les Dawson, who is famous for some of Mr Ecclestone’s favourite jokes including;

“Take my mother-in-law, please…” and “My mother-in-law fell down a wishing well. I was amazed; I never knew they worked.”

It’s not clear what action Mr Ecclestone intends to take, though it is rumoured that he has asked his solicitors to weigh up the value of the ransom against the value of his pre-nup.
