Paul Heaton of The Beautiful South has apologised to fans and recalled all recordings after a significant grammatical error came to light on “Song for Whoever”.
In a press statement, Paul said he was mortified to find out that not only had his grammar been incorrect but that the syntax was also affected; ergo the inferred meaning of the song could have affected Jennifer, Allison, Philippa or Sue, for the past 25 years.
After instructing a recall on the song and issuing a full apology he hoped that, in future, the replacement tune “Song for Whomever” would both rectify the situation and renew his 25 year copyright on the recording.
