A week ago today we started a campaign to buy a gift for a child who needs one this Christmas and the generosity we’ve seen has been humbling, beautiful and magical.

We have so far received 3,172 gifts from donors all over the world and in many of these wonderful little packages are messages. All of these are unique and all are very special.

Today one of the volunteers at a distribution hub opened a parcel that was stuffed full of toys for a little boy. In there was LEGO, books and other amazing things that a child is going to open on Christmas morning.

In the parcel was a little note that read:

“We are donating this gift in memory of our beautiful son Callan, who was born eternally sleeping. We hope that another child will enjoy this gift as much as he would have.”

There have been some beautiful messages of support and love and for that we thank you all. But this one floored us to tears and we wanted to share the memory of Callan with you all.

Thank you for sharing this with us Jane, both you and Callan are in our thoughts this Christmas and many children will have a wonderful Christmas morning because of your generosity.

If you would like to donate a gift to a child in poverty this Christmas please visit our wish-list and buy a gift at www.satireaid.co.uk.

All gifts are delivered directly to a charity distributing them including Barnados, Rochdale’s Giving Back, Reading Family Aid, Mission Christmas and Southend Toys and Teens Appeal.
