Nigel Farage has made an eleventh hour bid to snatch the “International Twat of the Year Award” from Donald Trump.

He made the Hail Mary pass during a broadcast on LBC Radio about the Berlin Christmas Market massacre by saying that Brendan Cox, the husband of Jo Cox the murdered MP;

“would know more about extremists than me.” Because, “He backs organisations like Hope Not Hate, who masquerade as being lovely and peaceful, but actually pursue violent and undemocratic means.”

He actually went on to concede that;

“Yes, it’s a terrible thing what happened, with the murder of his wife.”

But then spectacularly said;

“And I’m sorry, Mr Cox, but it is time people started to take responsibility for what’s happened.”

The extremely nice, extremely measured and extremely polite Brendan Cox didn’t immediately head down to the LBC Radio Studios to beat Nigel Farage to death with a chair, rather chose to simply tweet;

“Blaming politicians for the actions of extremists. That’s a slippery slope Nigel.”

Donald Trump, who had been leading the field for “International Twat of the Year” by a country mile for most of 2016 responded by saying;

“Good effort Nigel. I thought I was a shoe in after saying we should murder the families of our enemies but this, this really takes the biscuit. I’m not sure even I could squeeze those words out. My shit itches just thinking about it. Repugnant, truly repugnant. Well done Nigel.”

Nominations for International Twat of the Year 2016 are still open for two more weeks.
