A woman who made up a fictitious CV in order to secure a series of well paid jobs in The City is about to withdraw from the recruitment process for the “top job” in the country.

With an announcement expected within the hour the woman, who is a mother of three and a well paid government official, is expected to withdraw her candidacy after coming to the conclusion that pretending to be qualified to do the job is not the same as being qualified to do the job.

She is expected to apologise for her behaviour which includes rants in the media about other applicants for the position and other indescretions that have called her character and integrity into question.

The revelations about her candidacy came under scrutiny after our intern Douglas Googled her.
