The cyclist/motorist war is over after Chris Froome stepped up and took the knock that all motorists claim cyclists have deserved for the last 10 years.
Three-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome says he was unhurt after swerving into a car driver to make a point about his right of way and the general moral precedence of cycle travel.
It was while out training in southern France and despite taking up the whole of his own lane, when he saw the motorist overtaking he took the opportunity to throw himself into the path of the passing vehicle.
He is reportedly amazed there were no serious injuries.
“I’m amazed there were no serious injuries” he told us.”
The Briton, who rides for Team Sky, immediately travelled to the nearest cycle-friendly coffee shop to express loudly his disgust at all other road users. He also posted multiple times on Facebook and got 4000 Likes from overweight, middle-aged school teachers who shared his moral indignation. He is now waiting for a busy-body Lycra tragic from Hull to report the incident to local police. And the local paper.
Speaking on behalf of the RAC, spokesman Jeremy Clarkson said “Gotcha!!! Big thanks to Chris Froome for highlighting the dangers of car travel. The war is over. We win!”
