An email leaked to the Independent has revealed that billionaire Lord Sir Baron Richard Branson (MBE OBE BFD) is to bankroll Lord Sir Tony of Blair’s new leftish wing political party and campaign group which we hear is named New Virgin Labour.

“Aaron Banks? Aaron Banks? Who’s he?” the email is reported to have said, in reference to another rich git funding a political party, “Aaron wanks more like it! We could buy Aaron Banks for breakfast! ”

Celebrities such as scruffy gobshite Sir Lord Bob of Geldof as well as a number of senior-ish has-been politicians are said to backing the new party and marketing etc. is being handled by PR firm Freuds.

“Frauds more like,” said a Rochdale taxi driver that we were foolish enough to discuss this with on what seemed like the longest journey in history, “I assume it’s called New Virgin because we’re gonna get screwed like we’ve never been screwed before? I miss Maggie…”

The party, which will feature former Blairite ministers and lapdogs has apparently been months in the planning and has made “substantial progress,” in its first stated aim, which is to ruin, retard or reverse the Brexit process and re-run the referendum. Which means that Jonathan Ross, at least, is unlikely to be involved.

The email is said to have been written by, amongst others Alan Milburn.

“We have heard that Brexit is their primary target,” said our mole at an office that might be nearby to a pub that is technically within sight of the offices of the Windy Indy, “but also wants to save the NHS from privateers.”

Which is presumably why it’s being financed by the CEO of private health provider Virgin Care.

“They are at the moment avoiding the label of a political party and will simply focus on Brexit,” said our mole, “Apparently it has various centrists within the Labour party backing it as well as Lib Dems and they hope to push for a second referendum as soon as possible”

We also hear that Sir Clive Cowdery, a former Conservative party MP is backing them in their campaign for EU Referendum round 2.

“Oh yeah, it’s a bit of a grass roots movement. If by grass you mean billionaires who are still butt-hurt over Brexit.”

Virgin has denied involvement with the project at the moment but then Branson denied being in favour of NHS privatization and currently runs or is about to start running 300 NHS services, so yeah; whatever.
