The woman who managed to get thirty hours free childcare using the HMRC has been thrown out of MENSA for being “too clever” and has been invited to appear on the BBC’s Mastermind quiz show.
Sarah Bowley has been named the smartest woman in the country after being the first and so far only person to successfully complete HMRC’s online obstactle course to secure thirty hours of free childcare for her 3 year old.
“We weren’t expecting anybody to be able to complete the whole course, particularly in such a spectacular time.” A spokesman for the Childcare Service, the shit show being run by HMRC, told The Rochdale Herald. “She has set a blistering time too. It’s only taken her four hours a day for four months. It really is the time to beat. Hell of a benchmark.”
Runner up, Suzie Anderson, who came very close to validating her eligibility this month is now inexplicably back at square one after initially being told that she would be receiving a valid 30-hour code said:
“Sarah is a real inspiration to me and I hope to one day complete the course myself. HMRC have created a real world-class online obstacle puzzle. I particularly like the way nobody at HMRC knows anything about either the process or the policy itself. Their decision to never, ever answer the phone makes it particularly tricky.”
Sarah is looking forward to the next stage in the competition which HMRC have called the ‘Do I or Don’t I have to Reconfirm my Child’s Eligibility Every Three Months” but admits she’s in unchartered territory.
“Nobody has ever got this far or done this much paperwork so who knows what might happen. It’s good training for Mastermind though. I expect that’ll be really easy.”
