Harvey Weinstein has officially been nominated by the Republican Party as their candidate to contest the 2020 Presidential Election.
Mr Weinstein gained support from a majority of delegates, despite being a Democrat, a former close friend of the Clintons and allegedly a high profile sexual predator.
In a video message Mr Weinstein said that winning the nomination is a real honour and could not have come at a better time for him and his family.
He added that he hadn’t really thought of running until uncomfortable audio from a New York Police Department sting operation of him begging a wannabe Italian starlet to watch him masturbate in the shower during a business meeting.
“What can I do after that other than become the leader of the free world?” Harvey Weinstein asked reporters.
Mr Weinstein said he would “win the presidency and bring real change, drain the swamp and build a wall etc etc. You know the deal.”
The nomination was opened by Alabama senator Jeff Sessions who declared the former film mogul “a champion of women’s rights and winner.”
Kelly Ann Conway, who is to spearhead Mr Weinstein’s presidential run, has said that she is looking forward to working with such an “intelligent and inspirational man” and that a Weinstein presidency will be a giant leap forward for decency and women’s rights not only in the US but the whole world.
High profile Republicans have gone on the record to say that the allegations of abuse of power and sexual assault were absolutely disgusting while Mr Weinstein was a “sissy Democrat” but now that he is a Republican it’s absolutely fine and just demonstrates that he is a “winner and an alpha male.”
In other news Gwyneth Paltrow is still a bellend.
