Piers Morgan shared a video on Tuesday night showing him and other self-quarantined celebrities singing NWA’s “Fuck Tha Police”
“Hi guys. Day who knows what in self-quarantine. Barely know who I am any more. My wife tells me I used to like Trump and led an obsessive campaign against Meghan Markle,” the “Good Morning Britain” star said in the clip, “but that can’t be right, that makes me sounds like I might be racist. And I’m definitely not, I’m English not American.”
Wearing a t-shirt saying “I can’t breathe,” Piers encouraged us to remember George Floyd, the latest victim of a police and judicial system that is institutionally prejudiced against black people, feeding them into a privatised prison system that allows them to be worked in what is effectively a continuation of slavery.
Joined in a generous split screen by James Corden, the former newspaper editor then begins singing the song before the video cuts to a number of other celebrities picking up the next lines. The celebrities in the clip include Gal Gadot, Zoe Kravitz, Jimmy Fallon, a choir formed of black tenants discriminated against by the Trump Organisation in the 70s, Will Ferrell, Sia, Barack Obama holding his birth certificate, Labrinth, the five kids pressed into false confessions in the 1989 Central Park Jogger case whilst Trump fanned the flames with full page newspaper ads, Amy Adams, some of the “black guys counting my money” Trump complained about in the 90s, Mark Ruffalo, one of the women Trump allegedly raped whilst she was a child, Natalie Portman, Sarah Silverman, several of the women Trump allegedly raped whilst they were adults, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, and Norah Jones.
The video then falls silent as tumbleweed blows past a caption “senior black executives in the Trump Organisation,” before finally settling on a website link providing nationwide details of “book depositary upper floors” for rent.
