Popular paedophile, Gary Glitter is alleged to be considering crowdfunding a trip to Thailand for when he gets out of prison.
A spokesperson said, “The funds will only be used to fund Gary’s flights, accommodation and food. Everything else he will fund from the royalties payments he’s been building up since he went to prison.”
4,100 supporters funded the campaign and have criticised complainants online. Many of them see it as a dirty tricks campaign against a man who they believe the British musical establishment want to destroy. One told us, “The British musical establishment are carrying out this operation to shut up a true prophet. Whatever happened to free speech?”
People contributing to the campaign do get back some Glitter goodies. People contributing £20 get a signed picture of Glitter; £50 gets contributors Amazon vouchers that can be used to by Gary Glitter albums; £100 allows a person to download Gary’s new recording of, “In the Brownies”; £250 will get contributors a meal with Glitter in prison.
A spokesman for the crowdfunding company used by Glitter told us, “People say this is immoral but what private people wish to do with their own money is up to them. If they want to fund a hot tub for Gary Glitter to use in Thailand then it’s up to them.”
It’s further rumoured that should the fund be successful other stars may use it. Pete Doherty is rumoured to be considering crowdfunding a trip to Afghanistan.
