The Royal Mail have announced a special stamp to commemorate Brexit today. The stamp will be a first class stamp and cost £6.

The Daily Telegraph’s Bill Board said, “This is excellent news. It’s been a difficult few months for Brexit what with custom’s union issues and the thorny issue of the Irish border. These stamps really show that the UK is on the right track though. Anybody receiving a letter from the UK will know that the person sending it had to pay £6 for it. Nothing says, we got our country back, quite like paying £6 for a stamp.”

The news has been greeted by many young people. 25 year old Stan Still told us, “I haven’t bought a stamp in 5 years. If I need to send stuff through the post it’s usually in a pre-paid envelope. Everything else I do online and I can’t think of anyone under the age of 35 who still sends birthday or Christmas cards. Do people still send letters?”

The news of the £6 price tag has been welcomed by The Daily Mail. In an editorial they said, “Nobody said Brexit would be easy. Whilst it may seem a bit steep to be paying £6 for a stamp be aware you are doing your duty for the country. People died for the right to pay through the nose for that.”

Brexiteer Matt Walsh said, “I’m skint and facing eviction from my home. But, the other day a letter was delivered with a British flag on the stamp. I immediately felt better.”

Some Remainers have pointed out that the special stamps could be used in a barter economy should the pound collapse. One even said he has enough stamps to build a house with now.
