A Rochdale Mum who has already meticulously planned her entire extended family’s Christmases has asked her children what they are planning to do on Christmas Day.

Office drone Steve Dickinson said: “We kind of knew it was coming if we’re really honest with ourselves, we’ve been fantasising since February about going to Majorca and staying in a hotel over Christmas.”

“It’s amazing that we got this far into 2017 to be honest. I was sitting at my laptop with my credit card out last night to book the flights when the phone rang.”

“How did she know? I’m starting to think she might have the house bugged to be honest, I’m going to get somebody in to sweep it for listening devices and hidden cameras.”

“We’re not going to Porto Pollenca now, we’re going to Delia’s in Milnrow for a dry Turkey and passive aggressive charades. Like last year. And all the years before that.”

Delia Dickinson, real name Steve’s Mum, told The Rochdale Herald that she was merely asking “what people wanted to do at Christmas” and that everybody was “free to do whatever they wanted.”

Adding: “Even if it breaks their dear old Mum’s heart.”
