A new advertising campaign for Carling beer will allegedly feature Wayne Rooney trying to remember driving home.

The campaign has come in for criticism from an advertising agency who wanted to use Rooney to advertise their services for divorcing couples. In that advert, Rooney is depicted trying to remember who he was driving home with the previous night.

In other developments, the games maker, Electronic Arts are rumoured to be working on a downloadable add-on for Fifa ’18 based on the former England striker.

The game, “Wazza’s driving challenge” involves players attempting to drive back from a party under the influence of alcohol. The game simulates what it is like to drive a VW Beetle whilst 3 times over the drink drive limit. Players must avoid a series of obstacles such as paparazzi and policemen to arrive safely home.

It’s alleged the game will replace the much derided Fifa ’12 add-on, “Ryan Giggs Super Injunction Soccer.” That game was an attempt to combine sports simulation with a point and click adventure game.

Players would play as Giggs and attempt to hold down a job playing top flight football whilst journeying round Wales solving puzzles in order to conduct affairs. The affairs would lead to the player having to appoint lawyers to dispense super injunctions.

EA allegedly hope the game will rival the ever popular, “Roy Keane’s World Cup 2002.”

That game achieved a suprising level of popularity as it contained no football at all. Players would fight Mick McCarthy in a Street Fighter-esque fight on the streets of Saipan. Following the successful conclusion of this fight players then had to take a dog for walks of ever increasing length and solve mysteries of ever increasing complexity.

There are allegations that the makers of Subbuteo intend to do a Wayne Rooney accessories pack that will bring renewed interest to the once popular franchise. It’s alleged the accessories will feature figures of Rooney, a traffic policeman and a breathalyser kit.

That idea has brought back memories of the George Best accessories popular in the 70’s. That game featured a George Best figure, 4 Miss World figures in various states of undress and a small bottle of Southern Comfort.

It’s further alleged that Panini intends to add a special section to its 2017-2018 sticker album with the option to collect stickers of a breathalyser and the court Rooney appeared in.
