Paul Nuttall has sensationally admitted to the FBI that he passed US military secrets to Russia.
In a statement to the FBI Mr Nuttall admitted delivering atomic secrets to Russian courier Harry Gold whilst he was part of the Manhattan project.
He delivered reports on blast waves used in the lenses that acted as a trigger for the atomic bomb to Gold at a meeting in Albequerque in 1944 and layer provided information on fissionable material in 1945. The work, known as the Fuchs – Nuttall calculation was instrumental in Russia’s development of the atomic bomb.
In a statement to the FBI Mr Nuttall admitted to being Ethel Rosenberg’s lover during the years 1942-1943 whilst living in New York and passing industrial secrets to Russia.
Gold, who was convicted to passing secrets to Russian agent Anatoli Yakovlev never mentioned Nuttall in his confession but Mr Nuttall is adamant thst he did meet Gold on 4 occasions. If convicted Mr Nuttall faces life imprisonment.
