Churches like those associated with Christians and Catholics are still really bloody wealthy a recent survey has shown.
The news will come as no surprise to anyone really except maybe those who go to church every Sunday and hand over even more cash to the collection plate.
Famous for sayings such as “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled” or ” Rich people who see a brother or sister in need, yet close their hearts against them, cannot claim that they love God” it seems bizarre that the church is so fabulously wealthy while the poor are still so terribly poor.
We asked the good people on Rochdale high street what their thoughts were on the matter.
Daisy 79 told us “you can’t take the Lord’s name in vain, off to hell with you sonny Jim”
Eric 65 explained “it’s all a load of bollocks ain’t it mate.”
Paul 21 suggested that ” they all a bunch of kiddy fiddling nonces and should be shot” while the Right Reverend Peter Mitchell told us “if we repent for our sins then god will save us all” then asked me for £15 for the church roof.
We wanted to ask the poor for their thoughts on the money grabbing bible bashing bishops but most of them were rather unwashed and a bit stinky so we went to the pub instead.
