A woman has come forward claiming Sir Cliff Richard raped her cat while staying at her family home in Heywood.

The fresh accusations will come as a blow to the worn-out pop legend, who was only recently cleared of historic sex offences against humans.

Police swooped on the beleaguered singer’s home in the early hours of yesterday morning and found ‘dozens’ of cat ornaments and other feline memorabilia, but no evidence of abuse.

Scores of troubled pet owners have since come forward accusing the Christian musician of a host of other animsex offences, including French kissing a spaniel, sodomising a 2-month-old calf and battering a disabled shire horse with a guitar.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Animals (RSPCA) said in a statement, ‘We take any case of animal despoilment very seriously and will be watching the outcome of the police investigation closely.’

Richard’s agent said, ‘Cliff is unusually fond of cats, but has never had inappropriate relations with them or any other animal and is deeply hurt by these accusations.’

A police spokesman said, ‘We’re not interested in what Mr Richard does, thinks, feels or says, and will pursue this matter to its conclusion, which will probably result in dropping all charges.’
