Roy Clark, a 56 year old kitchen fitter from Castleton was amazed to discover that his application for Agent of Her Majesty’s Secret Service had been accepted.
“I couldn’t believe it” said Mr. Clarke. “My eyes are going you see; I thought I was applying for a job at MFI on The Jobcentre Plus website, but it was in fact for MI5”.
Although initially excited, Mr. Clarke declined the job offer stating:
“Oh it would have been alright doing all that licence to kill and shaken not stirred stuff, but I’m just too old you see”.
MI5 released this statement:
“By complete coincidence we hid a secret code within the job spec asking anyone who could crack it to say they are a kitchen fitter. We really appreciate Mr. Clarke’s honesty on this occasion as it could have gone horribly, horribly wrong”.
