In a controversial move the World Wildlife Fund has appointed that old woman who was filmed putting a cat in a wheelie bin in 2010 as a “goodwill ambassador” to tackle animal welfare worldwide.
World Wildlife Fund Director-General, Marco Lambertini, head of the World Wildlife Fund, has received a whole load of criticism from animal rights campaigners about the appointment.
Sebastien Wiesel, the executive director of the Rochdale Weasel Sanctuary, said in a statement “Mary Beale put a cat in a wheelie bin. She put a cat in a wheelie bin. Did I mention that she put a cat…in a wheelie bin? She did that.”
Wiesel assed, “The notion that the World Wildlife Fund would appoint a woman who puts cats in wheelie bins as a goodwill ambassador for animal rights worldwide is frankly a bit weird.”
“That would almost be as daft as making Tony Blair a Middle East peace envoy or Robert Mugabe as a World Health Organisation goodwill ambassador. It’s a really ridiculous decision.”
“Oh they did? Shows what I know. Will you excuse me I have some Weasels to feed.”
Brian Sanderson, program director at the RSPCA, said on Twitter, “Given Mary Beale’s track record of putting cats into wheelie bins, calling her a goodwill ambassador for cats is a bit embarrassing for the World Wildlife Fund.”
The cat who was put in the wheelie bin by Mary Beale in 2010 said the appointment is completely “meowable” saying “Mary Beale has done nothing for feline welfare other than putting me in wheelie bin seven years ago.”
