Home Secretary Amber Rudd has admitted that she did actually get the memo about specific migrant removal targets, but was unable to read it because she’s completely illiterate.

The Guardian reported a leaked memo dated last year, which shows that Ms Rudd did in fact get a copy of the memo.

In a series of tweets, Ms Rudd said she had seen this memo but as there were no pictures or emojis on it she was unaware of what it was about.

Ms Rudd added that on Monday she would make a statement to the House of Commons in response to “legitimate questions” about illegal immigration.

A spokesgoon for Downing Street said Ms Rudd retained the full confidence of the Prime Minister, who is also completely illerate.

But Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott again called for Ms Rudd to resign, saying:

“If I’ve said it once I’ve said it eleventy five times. Ms Rudd should resign. And could people stop calling me Shadow Home Secretary, it’s racist.”

The Guardian reported that the memo from June 2017 set out Home Office targets for achieving 12,800 “enforced returns” during 2017-108. It also said that they had beaten targets for “assisted returns.”
