A woman who apparently believes she is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has been found wandering in Japan attempting to convince people she is really in charge.

Japanese news media began reporting on the story earlier in the week, initially as a sad human interest article.

Tamagoshi Kato, who writes for the Tokyo Proclaimer, related the following to the Rochdale Herald,

“The woman, said to be middle aged and obsessed with staring at womens’ shoes, came to the attention of Japanese authorities earlier in the week. She is causing a lot of concern. We believe she may have suffered some kind of breakdown relating to a personal crisis. Perhaps an incident related to a deep feeling of disempowerment in her professional life?”

Apparently the woman has become obsessed with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and appears as if from nowhere whenever he makes a public appearance.

“She seems to gravitate to people in positions of authority and hope they hold the secret to authority over millions of people. It is very tragic.”

Japanese authorities have confirmed they have the woman in their care, although they are a bit baffled as to how deep her conviction is that she is someone of influence.

“It is a very unusual case. She is dressed like someone who has an unlimited personal budget to spend on clothing, but when she can not locate Mr Abe, she has been found talking to poor people from a distance about how concerned she is with their personal lives.”

It seems the woman was finally taken into the care of Japanese authorities after she was discovered leaving a spy camera in the living room of a family who were perplexed by her appearance and rang the emergency services.

They are attempting to confirm her full name and address so they can contact her immediate family and liaise with British consular services to arrange for her safe return to the United Kingdom.
