It’s embarrassing – said Councillor Dale Whiting. “It’s supposed to be our tribute to the legendary Gracie Fields but it looks like Del Boy. We’re a laughing stock yet again”.
Initially when the statue was unveiled everyone was quite impressed as Jason’s face was obscured by a mic but as the crowd dwindled it suddenly dawned on onlookers paying attention.
“We should ‘av a three wheeler parked next to it said” said local, Maureen Woods.
Rochdale council are considering filing the statue down to resemble Del Boy’s body. “The writer of Only Fools and Horses John Sullivan’s aunt’s, friend’s, sister once visited Rochdale” said counciller Terry Clegg looking for justification for the change.
