A Rochdale couple is now entering their third day of disposing of bottles at their local bottle bank.

Barbara and Steve Dickinson have spent the last two days unloading spent Stella, gin and wine bottles at the Salford Road Recycling Centre in Rochdale.

“We had a couple of skips full of empty booze bottles in the back garden after Christmas. We considered just moving house and letting the next tenants deal with them but we weren’t able to find anywhere with a bottle free backyard before the New Year.” Steve Dickinson told The Rochdale Herald.

“Just another couple of days work and we’ll have cleared enough space in the garden for New Year’s Eve’s empty bottles.”
