Breakthrough for influential alt-gay movement as the legendary Ruth Hunt, CEO of Stonewall, personally announced the plan to address the concerns that alt-gays were insufficiently recognised at Pride marches.
She said:
“You might think I would focus on issues like trying to raise levels of representation for women in LGBT coverage from negligible to at least half way appropriate.
Or frankly, I could even encourage men to challenge the patriarchy, perhaps by suggesting white cis men decline to participate in panels unless they have something approaching representative participation.”
“But no. I am here to tackle the issues that matter. And, if there is one group which is potentially even more overlooked than the lesbian, it is…”
[Muffled shouting heard backstage]
“Shut up bisexuals, not you…”
[Shouting ends with thud and whimper]
“It is men and women who identify as cis but who are actually flamers. Or alt-gays as they have become known. The time has come for the essential and vital need for recognition of their role in society. Calls for a heterosexual pride day are welcomed by Stonewall.”
“But why separate yourself off from the rest of your community. I am happy to announce that we will embrace our cis-identifying sisters and brothers at the upcoming Pride with a Float of Closets.
Whether you want to stand in the closet, next to the closet, or dance round the closet in drag playing the castanets, you are all welcome.”
Pride is for everyone. Be Proud. Just don’t be a twat.
