Shoppers in the UK were shocked by a press release this morning from popular retailer Argos, who state they will not exchange or refund anymore Theresa May-bots.

The appliances have been a top seller both at Argos stores and online since July last year.

May-bots were marketed heavily as a “strong and stable” appliance for general use about the home. Perfect at daily budgeting and keeping the cooking smells of new neighbours at bay.

But the number of faulty Theresa May’s being returned for exchange or refund since June 8th has become a serious cash drag on the retailer’s books.

A representative for Argos explained the difficulties,

“We do not have the staff to deal with this volume of returns.” Customer Services Manager Gareff Allot explained.

“May-bots were hot cakes for nearly a year. Now more and more customers are reporting issues. We don’t have the warehouse space to store the returns while we have so many unsold May-bots still in stock.”

The retailer went on to reassure all May-bots are tested to rigorous quality standards before sale. No one should think about returning one if they are happy with its function. But they will not accept anymore returns until the cause of the fault is identified.

Theresa May-bots were marketed heavily as a “strong and stable” appliance for general use about the home. But it seems more testing in the factory may have been necessary.

The Herald contacted several unhappy customers for their reaction.

“I’ve got her all boxed up to go back to the shop today. This is a scandal.” Biff Bishop of Rochdale responded.

“She doesn’t work like she’s supposed to. She’s stuck on one or two slogans. They change every time I connect her to the internet whether or not I click update. It’s nonsense.

I can’t even see why I bought one to begin with now. She hasn’t even cut the foreign aid budget.”
