Splendid Afros around the world have taken to Twitter to condemn Diane Abbot for being a complete idiot.

Diane Abbot was interviewed on the Andrew Marr programme and seemingly blamed her support for the IRA and other utterly bonkers views in the late 70’s and early 80’s on her haircut.

Andrew Marr asked her about statements she made during the early eighties in which she said that “Ireland is our struggle, every defeat of the British State is a victory for all of us.”

She responded by saying “It was 34 years ago and I had a rather splendid afro at the time. I don’t have the same hairstyle and I don’t have the same views.”

The Afro on the head of Lenny Kravitz, said “What the hell is she on about? I have nothing to do with the thoughts in Lenny’s head. I’m just hair.”

Sideshow Bob’s hair was equally disparaging of the comments “linking us to support of terror groups and other potty views is really unhelpful. Admittedly Sideshow Bob is a murderous loony but that’s’ nothing to do with me. I’m just hair.”

Phil Spector’s hair went on the record to say “Strictly speaking I’m not Phil’s hair, I’m a wig. I wasn’t even there when he murdered those people.”

The hair on the kid from the dance troupe Diversity, said “it’s bad enough that the kid I have to jiggle around on top of, isn’t cute anymore, but to be linked to any strange ideas he might have as a teenager is really unfair.”

Diane Abbot’s hair was unavailable for comment.
