The Wank Bank, formally Britain’s premier repository of one-handed images, has announced that it will shut its doors after over 100 years of trading.

Founded in Rochdale in 1880 as the Rochdale Mutual Society, it originally existed to allow school leavers to store racy images of their teachers ankles and any minor glimpses of lace.

However, The Great War and the rising popularity of Rochdale’s own Musical Hall star Edna Tribblethwaite saw customer numbers soar.

The 1960s and early 1970s were the real boom times for the bank, as the “Carry On” & “Confessions of a Window Cleaner” films hit Britain.

Barbara Windsor’s bra twanging off in “Carry On Camping” led to 20 million deposits alone.

By the 1990’s, however, business was dwindling. Though they saw out dial-up internet, and were assisted by the bandwidth problems of NTL and Virgin, the writing was on the wall.

With the 4G network enabling customers to circumvent the firewall at the office, the jig was up.

For die-hard customers there are only a few weeks left to watch Game of Thrones with your family and exclaim “Bank!” when Natalie Dormer comes on-screen.
