Sturgeon gives birth to kittens as court rules Scottish Parliament won’t be consulted on Article 50

Nicola Sturgeon is recovering after unexpectedly going into labour and giving birth to a litter of kittens at Holyrood this afternoon.

The news follows the announcement from the Supreme Court that none of the devolved institutions need to be consulted on the triggering of article 50 and that “the devolved legislatures do not have a veto on the UK’s decision to withdraw from the EU.”
Mother and kittens are said to be doing well.
