Katie Hopkins was driven slowly to hospital yesterday while choking on the word “sorry” she had typed in a court ordered apology to the Mahmoud family.

Hopkins was forced to apologise to a Muslim family whom she had defamed on Twitter and in her Daily Mail column last year. The Daily Mail paid £150,000 in damages to the family.

In December last year the Mahmoud brothers and their children were prevented from taking the holiday of a lifetime to Disney World when US officials revoked their permission to travel without explanation, presumably for being brown. Hopkins immediately accused the children of being extremists.

Paramedics drove carefully to the scene, taking care to keep to the speed limit, stop at amber traffic lights and then took a good few minutes to carefully parallel park their ambulance.

Despite their best efforts and careful driving they were able to get Katie to hospital where, after careful examination and once every possible medical text book had been consulted an immigrant doctor performed the Heimlich Manoeuvre and ruefully cleared her airway.

She is expected to make a full recovery.
