Gregg and Kathryn Brian and their son were given a last minute reprieve from being deported back to Australia from Scotland if Mrs Brian could find suitable employment when a walkabout pub was opened up in their town.

The family, whose visa did not allow them to stay after studying in the U.K, are made up now she can collect glasses and wear a hat with corks on.

“I really didn’t want to head back to Australia; it’s now full of foreigners there.” Kathryn explained to us, “We’re much happier here in Scotland pulling pints and saying G’day to our bar flys.

“We love it here and we really do our best to fit in. Just about everything we eat is deep fried and I already hate the English”.
