Freddie Mercury, lead singer of rock sensations Queen, has been commemorated with a blue plaque at his former family home in Feltham.

However, in a surprising revelation, online newspaper Getwestlondon.co.uk have confirmed what many of us already suspected, that the band’s guitarist Brian May is actually Mercury’s sister. Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991 from bronchopneumonia brought on by the AIDS virus, will forever be remembered as the flambouyant frontman of one of the world’s most popular rock bands. What many people don’t realise is that he was actually a tough west london lad who just wanted to be there for his sister, Brian.

Getwestlondon make the claim in the opening paragraph of their article in yesterday’s edition of the popular newspaper:

“Sister and Queen band mate Brian May unveil English Heritage blue plaque outside the house where star Freddie Mercury grew up in Feltham”

English Heritage unveiled the plaque at the Mercury’s childhood home days before what would have been Freddie’s 70th birthday. Anthony Blabbermouth who was a neighbour of the Mercury family for several days in the late 1960’s told us:

“Brianna was a lovely little girl. Those curls really made her stand out. When she started playing the guitar everybody told her she’d never make it big in the rock industry as a girl. We said to her;

“Brianna isn’t going to work but Brian May.’ She liked that and it sort of stuck. The rest, as they say, is history.”

A friend of the Mercury family told me:

“Freddie was always a bit of a hard lad as a boy, always getting into fights, but he decided to take on the persona of the camp frontman and even had his teeth especially mangled to take the attention away from his beloved little sister. We’re delighted that English Heritage have decided to put up a blue plaque, he deserves it.”

Freddie and Brianna’s parents, Mr & Mrs Mercury, were always very understanding and encouraged their children to worldwide success. Brianna almost let the secret slip with the bands single “I want to break free”. This came at a difficult time in her life but the band were, as always, incredibly supportive and appeared in the video dressed in female clothing as a gesture of solidarity with Brianna who was desperate to end the charade.

Brianna Mercury, or Brian May CBE, ranked the second greatest guitarist of all time and who is a vegetarian, animal rights activist and outspoken anti-smoking lobbyist has been married to former Eastenders actress Anita Dobson since 2000. Ms Dobson has made no comment.
