Footloose 2 will follow the adventures of a band of feisty teens who live in a town where dancing on Sundays is against the law. They must fight the evil hag Hareesa Might, who tries to keep Sundays free from the decadence of dance.

In 2000 (AD, honestly!) a parliament successfully repealed part of an act that made any dancing on Sundays illegal.
May voted against it.

We repeat: In 2000, the current PM voted to keep dancing illegal on Sunday. Really! Voted against the right to boogie on the sabbath!

A Hollywood Exec type told us:

“We’d pretty much given up on the dream of cashing in Footloose because the idea of a modern nation allowing its citizens to be criminalised for busting some moves to the smooth grooves is so far fetched. Then we heard about this and anyway it’s much easier to rehash an old movie than do anything of value so the dollar signs were lit!”

A spokespleb for Number 10 said:

“We don’t comment on such things but Theresa doesn’t care for getting down and getting jiggy with it and obviously would expect decent British people to be in bed early of a Sunday night, and not satantically rithing like German peasants! “
