Members of the Rochdale District Conservative Club were drowning their sorrows this afternoon after a printer’s error.

The members had gathered this afternoon to toast the departing Prime Minister and the new but had expected the Queen guitarist to be picking up the keys to Number 10.

The local party leaflet, delivered last week, claimed the competition for top Tory was between Andrew Loathsome and Brian May.

“None of us really watch the news, “ said Gordon Lyon-Downe, the club treasurer, “At our age you get quite sick of the socialist BBC bias. Most of us only read the Daily Mail for the anti-immigration stories. I didn’t think to actually check as I believe whatever I read. If I’d known they were giving the job to a bird I would’ve moaned about political correctness going mad. Missed that chance now I suppose.”

It’s hoped that they can somehow blame the error on refugees.
